Record-Breaking Vessel at BEGA’s Quays
November proved to be an exceptionally busy month for BEGA: for several weeks, nearly all quays were occupied by vessels, and virtually all cargo-handling equipment was operating at full capacity, handling various bulk and liquid cargo flows for both import and export operations.
One of the vessels received in November, HF Zhoushan, stood out both for her technical characteristics and the size of her cargo consignment. This vessel became the first ship with a 14-metre draft to be berthed at BEGA’s quays. She was also the first to deliver more than 70,000 tonnes of imported fertilisers destined for the Baltic region and other markets.
Part of the cargo is discharged into BEGA’s warehouses, where it is subsequently bagged and dispatched to customers by inland transport, while a significant portion of the cargo is transshipped directly onto smaller vessels bound for Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and other Western European ports.
